Default AB mesmers - Something that actually works?

So I've searched around a bit but keep finding stuff from like 2007 or 2008, which is kinda useless because a lot has updated since then, so I thought I'd start a new thread and actually ask: are there any decent mesmer builds for AB?
I've looked on pvxwiki.com but nothing there actually stands out. A lot of people have declared that mesmers are one of the most powerful professions out there, which I can see, but I don't seem to be doing much with mine for some reason.
I've tried using skills like:
Power Block
Empathy
Diversion
Ether Feast
Backfire
Shame

I'm just wondering what the more experienced mesmers out there have done for AB or any kind of pvp for that matter, what weapon is best to use and what skills to actually have on the skillbar. Any help would be appreciated - thanks

Against a mob? echo Panic and your team will sing your praises high and low.

Psychic Instability is also nice, if you're good enough to interrupt
Stolen speed should be nice, but sometimes it glitches in AB where not all of your allies get the boost, from what I understand. Either way, it's nice against a mob.
Ineptitude is also nice.

Just pick an elite and go with it.

The build I see the most is Psychic Instability with stuff like Cry of Frustration, Empathy, Shame, Diversion, Drain Enchantment, Mistrust/Shatter Enchantment/Power Drain, and Dash/Return.

Else E-surge with Mind Wrack also sees play.

Echo, Arcane Echo, and Mending. 'Nuff said.

In all seriousness, Esurge, Wastral's Worry/Demise should work pretty well.

For AB I would start with E-Surge (can't go wrong there) then see how you and your opponents are playing that day.

Are they mobbing excessively? Panic, Visions of Regret, Ineptitude.
Are you interrupting like a bot on roids? Psychic Instability. (Power Block is good, but since there will likely be lots of opponents around PI will have a bit more bang for your buck.)
Is everyone sucking and you aren't having fun anymore? Just go do something else or run something completely crazy, random, and fun. Use Illusionary weaponry, Arcane Languor, or some other random Mez skill you love. The most important thing is have fun.

You only want to play a mesmer if you're playing with a team that at least has the balls to get a proper team setup before entering, and in doing so you're better off with something that complements the teams ability to fight other organized team, and to kill off monks quickly.

tease, cry, leech sig/pdrain, emp, mwreck, shame or div, shatter delusions (nice finish with mwreck on low targets) and utility skill (sbash, return, self heal, speed boost etc).

but if you wanna have fun, id go with panic - its hilarious in a mob.

Blackout works pretty good against monks in AB.
Return for ur own defense.
Empathy for melee annoyance.
Backfire for caster annoyance.
Shame and Diversion for monk annoyance.
Mind Wrack + Esurge, becasue its good

2,5k/1,5k.

Play it because it's entertaining, not because the purple bar is entertaining.

Aha thanks for the suggestions guys ^^
Yesterday I tried out an illusion mesmer and spammed stuffed like crippling anguish, shrinking armor, accumulated pain and conjure phantasm. Eh...it kinda worked but I can safely say that domination works a lot better.
I find PB (Power Block) to be kinda...well, it's not for new mesmers since you have to practice when to interrupt. But yeah, empathy and backfire work like charms I also tried spirit shackles but wasn't too sure whether that was working well or not since monks don't generally attack, warriors are all about the adrenaline and eles have so much energy it wouldn't matter lol.
Now the only problem is actually getting a game of AB....damn you Kurzicks and your low numbers
Thanks again ^^

Crippling Anguish
Power Drain
Illusion of Pain
Phantom Pain
Drain Delusions
Drain Enchantment
Ether Feast (optional)
Dash

I haven't used it in AB because the format has 0 people on luxon side when I play (American nights), so I've only used it in Fort Aspenwood. That said I find it a lot of fun and it is good enough to kill the players who play in areas like FA, JQ, and AB because most of the people playing are bad.
